This area of Southwestern Pennsylvania was a big coal mining community, which wasn't too surprising seeing as how the black bricks were litteraly littered everywhere. This was a station that took the coal carted up from the nearby mine, now sealed, and lifted it into a barge on the river to carry downstream.
